Mallorca Hidden Gem: A Viewpoint not for the Faint-Hearted
When I’m driving from Valldemossa to Deià, there’s a little viewpoint that I’d definitely call a Mallorca hidden gem. I always like to stop here for a quick break.
The entrance is right next to the Hotel Bordoy Continental Valldemossa. You do have to climb over a small wall first, though, because I’m pretty sure you’re actually not meant to access it anymore. 😉
Of course, I went there with Lilly anyway, as always on a long lead, and honestly: I wouldn’t recommend this viewpoint for families with children or for bringing a dog.
You’re actually pretty high up here. Even the short path to the viewing platform isn’t protected all the way, and once you’re on the stone platform, it drops pretty much straight down. There’s no normal-height railing here either.
You can see the stone platform and the little wall quite clearly in my photo – and there really isn’t much more protection than that. But if you’re careful, it’s a really cool spot.
There’s a beautiful tree right in the middle of the platform which somehow looks completely out of place here, and it makes the viewpoint even more special.
And of course, the view is the real reason I like stopping here. I particularly love the combination of the little stone platform, the tree and the views across the mountains and down towards the coast.
If you’re exploring this part of Mallorca, you can also discover some of my favourite spots around Valldemossa, Deià and Sa Foradada, three places I always enjoy coming back to when I’m in the mountains.
So for me, it’s a really cool hidden gem in Mallorca for a quick stop – as long as you have a good head for heights and take care 😉
